PRACTICE BACKGROUND

Tenambit medical centre was established in the Tenambit shopping centre in 1971 by Dr Gruda with Dr O’Young purchasing the practice in 1981.
The practice then changed hands again with Dr Lex Doornbos purchasing in 1984 and moving the premises to 57 Maize Street.
The Practice relocated to the present site in 1989 with the expansion of the premises in 1995.
When Dr Doornbos retired in 2010, John and Dr Renee Bilkey purchased the practice and introduced many improvements and updates ensuring quality health outcomes for patients as well as creating a safe environment for patients and staff.
Dr Renee Bilkey relocated to Tasmania and Dr Tracy Markham and her husband Brett purchased the practice in November 2021.
Dr Tracy Markham and Dr Armi Aganan currently complete our GP team.
The practice has been accredited to supervise and train GP registrars since 1989. We currently hold accreditation with AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited) and were nominated for Practice of the year in 2011-2012.
